SINGER Anuar Zain has stated that he has no plans to become a judge for any singing competition.

Known as one of the most popular male vocalists in Malaysia, the “Keabadian Cinta” singer stated that he had actually received lots of offers to be a jury for competitions many times over the past decade, but he had declined all of them.

“I feel that it doesn’t suit me, and I don’t think I’m qualified to comment on other people’s performances, even if it’s a prestigious entertainment show. For me, it’s enough to just do my own thing, sing and perform,” he said.

Anuar stated that he was also not keen of overly protective fans that refuses to accept any kind of negative comments from the jury when it came to their favourite singer.

“Judges are actually very kind in that they want to help the competitors become better performers. But sometimes the fans don’t understand that and will often blame the judges instead,” he said.

The singer said that he was not one who could withstand such bashing, which was why he would rather not get involved.

It is noted that Anuar had only appeared as a guest jury twice throughout his career, once for “Akademi Fantasia”, and another for “Malaysian Idol”.
