KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim attended a briefing session on Sarawak Development at the Department of Drainage and Irrigation (DID) Kota Samarahan branch office here today (Mar 30).

The briefing session was part of his one-day official visit to the state.

Present was Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof; Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Kian, among others.

After the briefing, Anwar proceeded to conduct a walkabout at the Desa Ilmu Ramadan Bazaar, Kota Samarahan.

Later in the evening, he was scheduled to officiate at the Sarawak-level Madani Breaking of Fast event at the Al-Muttaqin Mosque in Kota Samarahan.

Anwar is expected to return to Kuala Lumpur at 8.20pm.

The Prime Minister arrived at the Kuching International Airport (KIA) from Kuala Lumpur at 2.05pm today. He was accompanied by Minister of Health Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad and Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek.

He was welcomed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg; Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri; and Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
