MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officiate at the PKR Sarawak convention which will be held here on November 23.
“Some 1,000 guests are expected to attend the convention,” said Miri PKR chief cum Miri MP Dr Michael Teo Yu Keng
yesterday.
He added that several federal cabinet ministers have also confirmed their attendance in the event.
This year, Miri is chosen to host the event in conjunction with the party’s 20th anniversary.
When asked what qualifies Miri as the venue for such event, Dr Teo said, “Miri is one of the earliest towns to start the
reformation 20 years ago.
“Miri city played an important role in the establishment of PKR 20 years ago, and for that reason, we chose Miri as the venue for the occasion,” he explained.
The convention is scheduled to start from 1pm to 5pm at Naim Clubhouse, South Lake, Bandar Baru Permyjaya.
