SIBU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is scheduled to undertake a one-day working visit to Kapit this Sunday (Sept 29)
The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at 10 am by helicopter from Sibu before attending a development briefing at Sri Baleh Guesthouse.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and the Minister of Works, who is also Kapit Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi will also be present during the visit.
Following the briefing session, Anwar will meet with local community leaders at Dewan Suarah Kapit before officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Kapit District Police Headquarters (IPD) at Jalan Bletih at 12.30 pm.
Next, Anwar will receive a briefing on the construction of bridges across the Rajang and Belawai Rivers, which are anticipated to bring significant benefits to the local community.
In the afternoon, Anwar will meet residents at Rh Robert Ngelumbang, Nanga Sebatu, during a meet-the-people session.
Anwar will be accompanied by the Home Affairs Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, throughout the visit.
This will be Anwar’s fourth visit to Kapit since 1997, reflecting his commitment to rural development and infrastructure improvements in Sarawak.
