KOTA SAMARAHAN: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) are open to working with any party except Democratic Action Party (DAP), Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).
Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) information chief Datuk Idris Buang said this following uncertainty in the nation’s political scene after Barisan Nasional (BN) decided that they would go it alone in the next general election.
“We know GPS will be able to stand on their own and anyone is welcome to woo us be it Umno or Perikatan Nasional.
“I think GPS will be able to work with them except three parties — DAP, PKR and PSB. We don’t share their chemistry,” he told the media after a function here on Monday (March 29).
Idris said regardless, it would be unthinkable for Pakatan Harapan to dream of returning to power come the general polls through an alliance with GPS.
“We are solidly on our own. We have the trust and confidence of the people.”
The Muara Tuang assemblyman said PKR’s support in Sarawak had waned and the party was in turmoil.
“PSB, on the other hand, are welcoming political frogs without having a proper road map (if they are returned as government).
“They have no planning and only know how to criticise. (Party president) Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh knows this; he was in BN for a long time.”
Idris also castigated Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen for labelling GPS as beggars, claiming they had been side-lined by the federal government.
“If he wants to condemn, Chong has to start with Wong, who himself has been part of BN in Sarawak along with GPS.”
