MIRI: No task is small for the Civil defence force (APM). Their latest rescue job was to free a six month-old kitten trapped between a brick wall and a PVC pipe at a secondary school in Lutong this morning.

A school security guard spotted the stray kitten with its head stuck at the first floor in between the wall and the pipe around 9 am.

Four Miri APM personnel were sent to the scene after they were alerted at 9.38 am.

The team freed the feline in about 10 minutes.

APM has become endeared to the local community here as their personnel are ever willing to respond to their calls for help, be it to remove poisonous snakes, hornet’s nest or to rescue pets in difficulty.
