KUCHING: The public are invited to apply for Kuching South City Hall (MBKS) Ramadan Bazaar lots at Stutong Commercial Centre and Stutong Community Market car parks for selling food and beverages during Ramadan from April 24 (Friday) to May 23 (Saturday).
Organising chairman Sebali Chik said applications could be made between now and 4pm on March 23 (Monday).
“The application forms can be obtained from One Stop Service Counter 9 at MBKS lobby,” he said at a press conference yesterday at the council’s headquarters in Jalan Padungan.
The casting of lots for the stall spaces will be done after the application deadline.
“All completed forms should be submitted with the appropriate food handling course certificates and medical check-up documents indicating the applicants already had typhoid vaccination at their own cost.
“Successful applicants are required to pay rental fees of RM220 per stall valid for the whole sale period,” he said.
He said this year’s Ramadan Bazaar 2020 will initiate a ‘No Straw and Plastic’ educational campaign.
“We will organise a briefing by the state Health Department and State Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) for all traders regarding hygiene and guidance for preparing halal food,” he said.
There will be 141 stalls — 58 selling cooked food, 18 for grilled foods, 46 selling assorted cakes and pastries, and 19 selling drinks.
