KUCHING: There must be collaborative efforts among researchers to elevate research abilities.

As such, Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development (Education and Innovation) Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee hoped that more researchers would apply for funding to uncover more findings for future purposes.

“We came up with the Sarawak Research and Development Council to promote research abilities in the state and provide funding for the researchers”, he said.

He was officiating at the closing ceremony of the 2nd International Conference on Innovative Sciences and Technologies for Research and Education (InnoSTRE) 2022 yesterday.

The two-day conference from Oct 26 to yesterday which was held in Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) saw 250 participants attended it.

Some 165 papers were combined and compiled into a book for future research purposes at the conclusion of the InnoSTRE 2022.

In line with the state’s large amount of natural resources and its direction to venture into biofuel from algae, Dr Annuar said the demand for research was still there for the future generations.
