KUCHING: Applications are now open for the TEGAS Pre-Accelerator Bootcamp 2024 (TPAB), which will take place from July 1 to 6 at TEGAS Digital Village (TDV).

Launched by Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) through TEGAS Digital Village (TDV) and TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub (TDIH), the purpose of the programme is to support the growth of startups and social enterprises in Sarawak.

TPAB is a one-week programme designed to elevate early-stage startups, helping them to validate their ideas, develop a minimum viable product (MVP), and formulate a go-to-market strategy.

TEGAS will be working together with its strategic partners, WatchTower and Friends (WTF), a tech accelerator, and MYStartup, a national initiative by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) and implemented by Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd.

In addition, MYStartup by Cradle will continue the startup support and benefits as this will be the second edition of collaboration with TEGAS.

Chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the programme was designed to accelerate the growth of local early-stage startups and social enterprises, supporting its mission to drive digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Sarawak in alignment with the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030)

“We believe the Pre-Accelerator programme, which is entering its sixth year, offers a valuable opportunity for young entrepreneurs in Sarawak to validate and refine their innovative ideas before bringing them to market,” he said in his recent statement.

He added the programme would cover a comprehensive range of topics, including launching a startup, business and financial modelling, product development, market entry strategies, fundraising, and pitching.

“Participants will receive in-depth training and guidance on these crucial areas, providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully navigate the early stages of their entrepreneurial journey.

“Participants selected for the programme will benefit from mentorship by industry experts and seasoned entrepreneurs, early-stage investment opportunities, priority access to TEGAS accelerator programs and Shell LiveWIRE Malaysia,” he said.

He then stated that in addition, the participants would also gain access to TEGAS ecosystem partners and programmes.

“The top winners will receive company incorporation support, an essential package on Sarawak Cloud, and three months of free co-working access to TDV and TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub (TDIH) locations in Bintulu and Miri,” he said.
