MIRI: Appointed headman should be committed in performing their task as the middlemen between the government and the community.
Assistant Minister for Solidarity Rosey Yunus said the responsibilities of a headman comprised many aspects including the welfare of people, regardless races or religious, and to distribute aid fairly.
Speaking at the presentation of appointment letters for Subis, here yesterday, she reminded the headmen to be fair in disseminating aid, especially involving the Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant.
She said appointed headmen should be inclusive to ensure communities under their charge would be left behind from the others as well as to ensure that the government aid would reach the grassroots level.
Also present at the event were Subis District Officer, Husini Bakir.
