KOTA PADAWAN: Seven food premises under the jurisdiction of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) received certificates of appreciation during the MPP Clean Food programme 2022.
In its press release, the council said that the purpose of the programme, organised by the council itself, was to encourage a healthy competition among the owners of food premises to improve the level of cleanliness, safety and quality of food sold in their respective premises.
Another purpose of the programme is to give awareness on the importance of environment protection, mainly within the food premises.
“As food premises owners, their roles are crucial in ensuring the food safety and cleanliness in their premises,” it said.
The seven premises which received the certificates were Restoran Persona, Kucei Kitchen, Everwin Kopitiam, Oyes Food Corner, Jia Su Yuan Vegetarian Cafe, Kafe Bujang Lelang, and Go Fun Kee Mile 7 Bak Kut Teh.
“They are chosen for being able to keep the scale or scoring range at 85 percent,” it added.
Present at the certificate presentation ceremony were chairman of MPP, councillor Ir Lo Khere Chiang, chairman of the Market, Licence and Enforcement C ommittee, councillor Jong Tien Kiong and deputy Henry Raub as well as head of Health and City Services Agnes Penny Dolen.
