KUCHING: The demands for allocations by opposition Members of Parliament will be discussed in the Unity Government Leadership Council meeting on April 17.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said this follows his meeting with Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin in Parliament on March 19.
Fadillah said the requests submitted by Hamzah, Opposition chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and Beluran MP Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee in their previous meeting would be brought to the highest leadership council of the Unity Government Secretariat.
“In the meeting, the opposition said they want allocations and any conditions (to give allocations) are up to the government (to set).
“And I said it will be brought to the highest leadership council of the Unity Government Secretariat to present what they desire,” he told the media during his Hari Raya Open House at Hikmah Exchange Event Centre here today.
Fadillah, who is also the Unity Government chief whip, said no agreement was presented by opposition parliamentarians to the Deputy Prime Minister’s representatives, as stated in their various statements.
On March 24, Fadillah was reported to have said that there is no draft agreement related to demands for allocations to opposition representatives with the MADANI Government as claimed by Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders following the meeting.
