KUCHING: Subjects related to aquaculture will soon be included as part of the syllabus in the Sarawak Agriculture Institute.

Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said this is because aquaculture can be a lucrative business.

“Aquaculture is one of the few business that I consider as having a bright future ahead.

“That is why we will add this for the syllabus under the institute,” he said.

He added that he wanted to see the graduates venture into the business.

“So, I am hoping that the recent graduates can see that this is beneficial not only for them but for their career as well,” he said.

He said this during a press conference after the 17th Convocation of Sarawak Institute of Agriculture here on Monday (Feb 27).

He hoped that the addition of the new subject to the syllabus would attract more people to enroll in the institute as well.
