KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from army chief General Tan Sri Zamrose Mohd Zain in his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Monday.
The courtesy call was Zamrose’s first official visit to Abang Johari since assuming the post of the 28th Chief of Army on June 11, 2020.
During the visit, he briefed the chief minister on the activities that would be held in conjunction with the 88th Army Day, particularly those related to the Jiwa Murni Programme in Sarawak.
Other matters that were discussed included plans to construct four army posts at the border and a camp in Bintulu for the 7th Battalion Border Regiment.
Also present during the courtesy visit were First Infantry Division commander, Major-General Datuk Dzulkafli Mustaffa, Army Eastern Field Command commander, Lt-Gen Datuk Mardzuki Muhammad and Deputy State Secretary Datuk Seri Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
