SIMUNJAN: The 10th Battalion Royal Ranger Regiment (10 RRD) was involved in the closing of a temporary flood evacuation centre as well as transporting flood victims back home on Monday (Feb 8).

A military spokesperson said a team of 19 personnel and two officers, led by Captain Ahmad Afif Afifi Shukri, were mobilised to Dewan Mesra Simunjan to begin their tasks.

Apart from cleaning the centre, the team also provided transportation for the flood victims to return to their homes.

“They also carry out post-flood cleanings for several homes belonging to the affected villagers in Kampung Simunjan Jaya.

“Such cooperation and efforts by various agencies to help flood victims, especially assistance from the army under the auspices of the First Infantry Division, are meaningful for the villagers,” the spokesperson said.

The assistance provided by the army, coincides with the Fifth Pillar of the 28th Army Commander-in-Chief Command which emphasises good military relations with the community, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
