KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Army Eastern Field Command (PMTTD) will strive to maintain strong relations with regional countries to safeguard national sovereignty and interests.

Its Commander Lieutenant General Datuk Mohd Sofi Md Lepi said this during their 10th anniversary at the Muara Tuang Camp Multipurpose Hall today (Feb 26).

“Cooperation and diplomacy should be enhanced to explore new opportunities and ensure stability in the region.

“The Army’s achievements in these regions have earned them support from the people and target groups. We will continue to improve and strengthen cooperation through the ‘whole of government and whole of society’ (WOGOS) approach.

“Development of the Army’s reserve forces will further strengthen their role in preserving sovereignty and defending the nation,” he said.

He urged all personnel to uphold integrity and work together to overcome challenges, ensuring continued prosperity and harmony.

The theme of the celebration was “A Decade Together, Sovereignty Preserved,” highlighting the commitment of the Army and the Eastern Field Command in safeguarding the sovereignty of the country, particularly in Sarawak and Sabah.
