KUCHING: An arrest warrant was issued for a local man, who failed to appear in court for a drug abuse hearing today.
The Magistrate’s Court here ordered the arrest of Johari Adnan, and for him to appear in court on Dec 1.
The accused is facing a charge under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
He is suspected of injecting amphetamine and methamphetamine into his body around 3.35pm on Nov 23.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, a local man was let go without being released for carrying out unlicensed money lending activities.
The court acted in deciding being told that the prosecution did not want to proceed with the case.
The accused, Lai Wai Heng, faces two charges under Section 5 (2) of the Moneylenders Act 1951.
He is suspected of committing the two offences separately at Jalan Kapor on May 12 and Jalan Datuk Stephen Yong on June 9.
