SIBU: A man was arrested for illegal possession of cables and copper belonging to a telecommunication company on Thursday.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the suspect was nabbed at about 12.45pm at Jalan Lada.
“The suspect failed to provide reasonable grounds regarding the items seized.
“The police later detained the items together with his motorcycle, and several metal cutting tools used to commit the crime,” he said.
Zukipli added that the Initial investigation revealed that the suspect had past records for theft and drug abuse activity.
“The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft,” he said.
