BINTULU: The Aruz TransBorneo Perodua convoy entered its second day on Sunday whereby the members dropped by a longhouse headed by Clement Bayang here.

Head of Sales Operations, Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd, Fazlee Alton Abdullah Saffri said the programme was one of their corporate social responsibilities.

“Our Malaysian society, especially the people of Sarawak have been giving Perodua a lot of support all this while.

“It is our high hope that our contribution would be able to lighten the burden of Rumah Clement Bayang’s residents, in their daily life,” he said when referring to their contributions of daily necessities for 20 households staying there.

A total of RM3,000 was spent in paying for the items donated to the 20 families which are courtesy of one Perodua subsidiary Otostabil Sdn Bhd.

The contributed items included rice, chocolate malt, cooking oil and first aid kits.

An estimate of about 100 residents benefited from the contributions and programme held.

It was the first of such event ever held in the longhouse, said Tuai Rumah Clement Bayang. He recorded his thanks to Perodua for such effort. – Sarawak Voice
