While many star kids opt for acting, Aryan Khan, the eldest son of Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, is set to chart a different course by making his directorial debut.
Red Chillies Entertainment, Shah Rukh and Gauri’s production company, made the announcement in collaboration with Netflix. A social media post revealed, “Coming 2025: Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment present a unique Bollywood series, produced by Gauri Khan, created and directed by Aryan Khan.”
The news garnered a wave of congratulations for the aspiring filmmaker. Director Rakesh Roshan commented, “Aryan, all the best and looking forward.”
Meanwhile, Aryan’s sister Suhana Khan, who herself debuted last year with “The Archies”, expressed her excitement, writing, “So excited!”
However, not everyone was impressed. Some netizens questioned the opportunity given to Aryan, with one commenting, “I wonder how many talented people get to make directorial debuts on Netflix. But hey, prove me wrong, Mr. Khan.”
Another remarked, “He has no experience. He’s only here because he’s Shah Rukh Khan’s son.”
Before the announcement, Aryan had been working behind the scenes as a scriptwriter with Red Chillies Entertainment, honing his skills in the industry. Fans and critics alike now await his first project to see if he can live up to the expectations.
