KUCHING: Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi) has announced three women candidates in Sibu for the coming 12th State Election.
Calling the three women as Aspirasi angels, its president Lina Soo said Josephine Lau will be the candidate for Dudong, Janet Loh for Pelawan and Jess Lau for Meradong. The trio will contest under the party’s butterfly symbol.
“All three potential candidates are high powered ladies with great success and proven track records in multinational marketing company,” she said on Saturday (Jan 9).
She said the candidates were very committed and dedicated in their pursuit of their cause for Sarawak independence and sovereignty.
“Having gone to the ground for a few years to campaign for Sarawak self-determination in the Rejang Basin, these ladies will carry the Aspirasi butterfly symbol for hope, change and transformation,” she said.
She added that Josephine Lau is 50 years of age who is multilingual and fluent in Iban, Chinese, English and Bahasa Melayu BM), and is married with one son and three daughters.
“Janet Loh is 52, who hails from Sibu and holds a Diploma in Higher Accounting, and she is trilingual in Chinese, English and Malay. She is married with two daughters,” she said.
Soo said as for the third candidate who will contest in Meradong in Sarikei is 61-year-old Jess Law, who speaks Chinese, English and Malay with accounting background experience.
“Therefore, I urge the people of Sibu and Sarikei to support Aspirasi angels, namely Josephine, Janet and Jess by sending them to State Legislative Assembly (DUN) to be the people’s’ voice in making our demand for an independence referendum to let our people decide our own political, social and economic future. Sarawak is for Sarawakians,” she said.
