KUCHING: Opposition Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi) wants to see more Bidayuhs, especially the younger generation, join the party.
Its new chairman George Young Si Ricord Junior made the invitation at the launching of the party’s new tagline ‘Parti AdupTa’ which translates to ‘our very own party’.
“I believe the Bidayuh community should come on board and join us as this was a vehicle put forward by the late Dr Patau Rubis.
“We are the new breed of leaders and we can voice out our opinions for the community,” he said.
George Young Si Ricord Junior who had previously stood as a Parti Sarawak Bersatu candidate for Stakan joined Aspirasi this year.
He thanked the party’s supreme council for naming him as chairman of the party.
Aspirasi which was previously known as the State Reform Party (Star) was founded by Dr Patau Rubis in 1996.
