KUCHING: A total of RM652,349.60 in takaful compensation benefits have been distributed to beneficiaries of Assar unitholders who invested in Assar special schemes, including Akaun Pendidikan Assar, Akaun Persaraan Assar, and investments made through the EPF-Members’ Investment Scheme (EPF-MIS) since its introduction in 2003.
Norlia Madon, the chief executive officer of Amanah Saham Sarawak Berhad (ASSB), disclosed this information during a recent ceremony at the ASSB office in Jalan Satok here.
“The takaful protection not only covers adversities resulting from the investor’s passing but also provides for total permanent disabilities caused by accidents. Additionally, a funeral expense benefit of RM1,000 is granted to the deceased’s next of kin,” she said through a statement on Tuesday (Oct 24).
Norlia explained that this takaful benefit is offered at no cost to eligible investors in the three special schemes, provided they have invested for a minimum of 6 months with a balance of at least 100 units in their account.
“The takaful protection value is calculated at RM1 for every Assar unit held at the end of each month, with a maximum coverage of RM300,000.”
Investors in Assar’s special schemes can find reassurance in the financial security these takaful benefits offer, ensuring a safety net for them and their loved ones.
