KAPIT: Kapit Tai Chi Association has become the first non-governmental organisation in town to hold a pre-Chinese New Year do, which was attended by some 150 members and guests.

Chairperson Anita Wong Siew, who spoke at the event, said one of the objectives of the association was to gather members to practise Tai Chi every day to stay healthy.

She added that it was also a tradition to hand out ang pow (red packets) to senior members — 70 years old and above — as appreciation and to share the festive cheer with them.

Thirty senior citizens received their ang pow during the dinner while Cochran Alwi Amos, representing Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat, announced a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM5,000.
