SARIKEI: The Sarawak Sarikei Fung Clan Association has been praised for organising events that upholds the Mid-Autumn Festival tradition.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said such events provide a platform to strengthen family and community bonds.

“This event is not just about celebrating the festival, but it also reinforces family connections and unity within the community,” he said.

He said this during the three-in-one Mid-Autumn Festival dinner, appreciation for the elderly, and outstanding student awards ceremony at a local restaurant here recently.

On a related note, Huang who is also Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman l, congratulated the students who received the academic excellence awards.

“Education is important and it it part of the national progress. It is the foundation for producing an excellent and competitive generation.

“Therefore, it must be ensured that children receive proper education so that they have a brighter future,” he said.
