SIBU: Residents of the Julau Community Rehabilitation Centre (PPDK) have received welfare assistance from Persatuan Kebajikan Teresang Dayak Sarawak.
A 17-member delegation from the association, led by their president Robinson Corey brought the relief aid to alleviate the operational burdens of the centre.
“Our presence is to lighten the operational burden of this centre after learning that it requires public attention. As a non-governmental organisation based on community welfare activities, we feel compelled to extend assistance,” Corey said in a statement.
He added that the donation, in the form of daily food supplies, was part of their welfare programme in line with the goals and vision of the association.
“We will help anyone in need, regardless of their religion and ethnicity,” he added.
Corey handed over the donations to the chairperson of PPDK Julau, Pauline Jagan during the visit to the centre.
