Association receives good response from 51 blood donors

SIBU: A blood donation campaign, organised by the ZongHo Sibu Youth Association in partnership with Sibu Hospital received tremendous support from the community with a total of 51 people donated their blood.

The event, held in collaboration with the Blood Transfusion Services Unit of Sibu Hospital, took place at the Orange Zone, Star Mega Mall here recently.

“The programme ran from 10 am to 2 pm, with 73 people registering and undergoing health screenings.

“Out of the total registered participants, 51 were able to donate blood, while 22 were unable to do so due to medication intake, health issues, and other factors,” the association said in a statement yesterday (July 5).

The purpose of the campaign was to help the Sibu Hospital’s Blood Bank to maintain adequate blood supplies.

The ZongHo Sibu Youth Association expressed its gratitude to the volunteers and the public for their empathy and understanding in donating blood, adding their contribution are vital in saving lives.
