KUCHING: The Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations (SFCA) will host a dinner in a modest way on February 6 to usher in the Year of the Rabbit.

SFCA president Datuk Richard Wee said such a festivity would be making a comeback after four long years due to the pandemic.

“It has been the tradition of the federation to host the dinner every year previously but due to the pandemic, we have not been able to do it.

“Invitation has been extended to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg as the guest of honour.

“We intend to host the dinner in a more modest way at Imperial Hotel at 7 pm, with 60 tables expected with more than half of it, slightly more than 30 tables, open for the public to purchase the tickets, with the price at RM1,000 per table,” he said.

He revealed that the tickets would be on sale next Monday and he would also like to encourage other communities to attend as well.

“We have also invited all the Cabinet members and I cannot guarantee all of their attendance as of yet as they may be busy but we will try our best to get all of them to attend,” he added.
