BINTANGOR: Various associations and organisations here yesterday received contributions totalling RM21,300 for their activities.
The contributions from Corporate Affairs assistant minister Abdullah Saidol were presented by Semop constituency’s service operation officer at the Bintangor Waterfront yesterday.
Among the recipients of the contributions were Meradong District Police Headquarters (RM3,000), Meradong District Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth wing (RM3,000), Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Tanjung Bundong (RM2,000), PTA of SK Selidap (RM2,000) Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) of Jakar Branch (RM3,000) and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Semop (RM2,000).
Abdullah also donated items worth RM6,300 to three longhouses; they included kitchen utensils for the Rh Bennet Abul in Sungai Sian as well as two units of grass machines and 10 units of plastic folding tables for Rh Lemada Jang in Sungai Selidap.
Meanwhile, Rh Jerni Jam received five rubber mats and 36 pairs of curtains.
Abdullah, who is also Semop assemblyman, urged the recipients to use the contributions wisely for the good of their communities.
Also present were Meradong PBB Youth chief Halmi Morsili and Councillor Nicholas Abu Seman.
