KUCHING: A noodle stall hawker at Jalan Pending here was believed to have died of asthma in her husband’s car on the way to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

Phiong Hui Li, 34, from Semarax Garden at Jalan Dato Mohd Musa in Samarahan was working at her stall when at about 10am she suffered an asthma attack.

She asked her husband to get her to a clinic at Ang Cheng Ho, but the husband had to drive from Mile 9 to her stall at Pending and there was a heavy jam at Mile 6. Still, when he arrived, the wife was able to get into the car by herself.

After coming out of a roundabout near the stall, she told her husband that she had difficulty breathing and lost consciousness. The husband quickly stopped his car by the roadside and called an ambulance.

When the ambulance arrived, medics failed to save her and she was pronounced dead.
