TAIWANESE tech giant Asus recently released its latest laptop in Malaysia, the budget-friendly Vivobook 16. The new device is fitted with AMD processors while packing a large 16-inch display, all while retaining a relatively low price tag.
The Asus Vivobook 16 features a large 16-inch, IPS display pushing a WUXGQ (1920 x 1200p) resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio. The display is also capable of up to 300nits of peak brightness with 45 per cent coverage of the NTSC colour gamut; however, there is no fancy refresh rates as the device gets the standard 60Hz panel.
Inside, the Vivobook 16 has the Zen 3-based AMD Ryzen 5 7530U with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD on the base model, with the higher-tier laptop packing a Ryzen 7 7730U with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Keeping the device cool is an Asus IceBlade fan cooling system with dual air vents. The laptop is also equipped with Windows 11 Home out of the box.
As for the connectivity, the device is fitted with a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB-A 2.0 port, an HDMI 1.4 port, a 3.5mm combo audio jack and a DC-in port, along with support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity.
Powering the Vivobook 16 is a 42Whr battery. Other features of the note include a 720p webcam with privacy shutter, a fingerprint sensor, and a full-sized keyboard with 1.4mm key travel.
As for the prices, the Asus Vivobook 16 with AMD Ryzen 5 7530U, 8GB RAM 512GB SSD is priced at RM2,599, while the version with AMD Ryzen 7 7730U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD is priced at RM2,999.
Both variants are already available for purchase from the Asus Malaysia official eStore, with the option of either Indie Black or Cool Silver colourways.
