KUCHING: Sarawak’s Tang Soo Do athletes received a significant boost ahead of the national championship, thanks to the generous support from the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP).
LPKP chairman Michael Kong Feng Nian fulfilled his promise made to the athletes during the 5th Tang Soo Do Championship Open in July.
“I pledged to explore ways for bus operators to contribute to the community through CSR initiatives,” he said in a statement.
“This would ensure our 76 athletes and coaches had the necessary support to travel to Sibu for the national championship at SMK Sacred Heart from Oct 5-6.”
Today (Oct 4), Kong made good on his word as he stood at Kuching Sentral alongside the talented athletes and their dedicated coaches.
Joining him were Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen and representatives from Kapit Bus Express Sdn Bhd , who generously sponsored the return trip for the entire team.
“Kapit Bus Express’s act of kindness demonstrates the power of community and corporate social responsibility,” said Kong.
“We at LPKP Sarawak wish these athletes all the best in their competition.”
Kong expressed his hope that the athletes would represent Sarawak with pride and determination, bringing home victories that would make the state proud.
“At LPKP Sarawak, we believe in leveraging our position to create positive changes for the people of Sarawak,” he said.
“Whether it’s in transportation, development, or community engagement, we are committed to supporting initiatives that will have lasting impacts on the well-being of our communities.”
