KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received in his office at the DUN building yesterday afternoon a courtesy call by Dr Michael Posti, the Austrian ambassador to Malaysia.
Dr Posti was accompanied by embassy officials during the visit.
In the 45-minute meeting the Chief Minister and his visitors discussed among other things cooperation and opportunities that could be explored from economic, educational, tourism and to health aspects of development between Sarawak and Austria.
The discussion was also on the potentials of Sarawak in terms of future projects in green technology, infrastructure, health, water and waste management, and digitalisation, and expressed hope of Austria collaborating with Sarawak in the future.
They also exchanged views on global affairs and bilateral relationship between Malaysia and the European union and Austria.
