VAROUS health matters discussed during the recent Sarawak Health Development Joint Action Committee Meeting has shown positive development.

Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali said the meeting held on Sept 9 was co-chaired by Minister of Health and the Deputy Premier of Sarawak.

“Various issues were discussed, showing positive developments, including the upgrading of health facilities and underdeveloped health clinics as well as the Sarawak Health Facility Pilot Project.

“However, there are still many more matters that will continue to be discussed, and we hope to reach more agreements,” she said in reply to Billy Sujang (GPS-Opar) during question-and-answer time today.

Billy had asked about the latest status on the Malaysian Agreement 1963 (MA63), particularly on Sarawak’s autonomy over education and health and medical services.

Hasidah earlier said several working committees have been established to discuss and address requests made by the Sarawak government.
