SIBU: Patrons at a food court in Sibujaya experienced a moment of alarm when a cooking gas cylinder at one of the food stalls suddenly caught fire this afternoon.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties reported in the 12.50 pm incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that Song auxiliary firemen, who happened to be present at the food court, promptly took control of the situation.
They successfully extinguished the gas cylinder fire using two fire extinguishers.
Despite the situation being under control, firemen from Sibujaya station were deployed to the scene following an earlier distress call.
Upon their arrival, they only monitored the situation and confirmed that no structural damages had occurred.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded their operation at around 1.05 pm.
