MIRI: Awang Mohd Faiz Ashraf has emerged as the winner in the Miri Vaganza karaoke contest on Saturday night. He bagged cash amounting to RM500, a trophy and certificate.
First and second runners-up went to Norhayati Dewi Zaini and Putri Nurulfirman. Each received cash of RM400 and RM300 plus a trophy and certificate of participation respectively.
Held at Coco Cabana Miri, the event featured seven finalists competing in the grand final.
A total of 22 people had entered the event hosted by the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), which was held in conjunction with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) week, Sarawak zone.
All prizes were presented by Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport and Entrepreneur Development II (Entrepreneur Development) Dr Ripin Lamat.
