PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan attended the 136th meeting of Chief Ministers and Mentri Besar here yesterday morning.
Awang Tengah, who represented Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, was accompanied by Deputy State Secretary Datuk Seri Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
The deputy chief minister said among the issues discussed was the development of the agriculture sector in Sarawak.
“We also explained our vision to develop smart farming by providing sites for the production for halal food and the construction of an agropark to support the industry,” he said when met with reporters after the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mahathir.
