KUCHING: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan has been honoured with the Bintang Darjah Paduka Seri Laila Jasa Yang Amat Berjasa Darjah Pertama (PSLJ) by the government of Brunei Darussalam.
The PSLJ – First Class carries the title of Dato Paduka Seri Laila Jasa.
Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah presented the state decoration to Awang Tengah at the Istana Nurul Iman in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The decoration was conferred in conjunction with the 77th birthday celebration of the Sultan of Brunei last Saturday (July 15).
Awang Tengah, who is also the Sarawak Minister for International Trade and Investment, expressed his gratitude for receiving this prestigious state decoration. He emphasised that it symbolised the strong bond between Brunei and Malaysia, particularly Sarawak.
“The close relationship extends beyond the governmental level, encompassing family ties, community connections, and social interactions that are very close between our two nations.
“Furthermore, our trade relations are also remarkably strong and will continue to be strengthened across all sectors,” he said after receiving the state decoration.
The PSLJ is one of Brunei’s highest state decorations, bestowed based on merits and contributions to the country.
