Awang Tengah stresses importance of mastering science and technology

LAWAS: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan has stressed the critical role of science and technology mastery in ensuring Sarawak keeps pace with rapid technological advancements and economic shifts.

“As technology progresses at an unprecedented rate, Sarawak must prepare to embrace and adapt to these changes.

“Without mastery of science and technology, we risk being left behind in this digital age,” he said during the opening ceremony of the Rahmah Madani Carnival and the Prime Minister’s Forum for Islamic Affairs, here today.

Awang Tengah, who is also the Bukit Sari assemblyman, stressed the importance of acquiring knowledge, cultivating a strong work ethic, and upholding integrity in all endeavours to propel the state forward.

“Success requires not only hard work but also sincerity, trustworthiness and integrity, regardless of the nature of the task,” he added.

Highlighting the significance of unity and cooperation among Sarawakians, Awang Tengah noted that harmony and mutual respect are fundamental to Sarawak’s stability and progress.

“Unity and cooperation are the bedrock of stability. Without them, our security and progress are compromised. Therefore, it is imperative that we maintain unity and harmony to uphold Sarawak’s prosperity.”

The event was also attended by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Senator Dr Zulkifli Hassan, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, and Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong.
