KUCHING: The runners of Axis Petra Jaya Track & Field Club continued to display their athletic excellence throughout 64th Sarawak Open Athletics Championship 2017 held at the Sarawak Stadium, Petra Jaya, recently.
The team clinched 10 gold medal, six silver and 10 bronze medals.
The gold medals were obtained from a number of events such as 100m, 200m, 400m by their men and women athletes in addition to long-distance events, 4x400m relay and field events such as javelin.
“We’re so proud of our brilliant performance. Congratulations to all the athletes who are successful winning medals in the tournament,” said team manager, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.
According Fazzrudin, he believed that the achievement of the athletes came through their efforts and hard work during training.
“We hope that this success will be the launch pad for them to continue to open up even greater successes in future,” added Fazzrudin.
