KUCHING: Ayub Dahari will replace Siti Rodziah Bunsu Drahman as the new general manager of SeDidik Sdn. Bhd. effective today.
He was born on Jan 18, 1965 and is a native of Bumi Kenyalang from Kampung Sageng, Simunjan.
Ayub graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and majored in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky, United States in 1989 and obtained the Nury Certificate in 1992 and the PERMATA Nursing Course Certificate (KAP) in 2021.
He started his early career as a supervisor at the SeDidik headquarters in 1991, and was later appointed as a business/marketing manager.
Next, he was promoted to operations manager, before taking up the position of manager and finally as senior manager of the Sector Implementation Programme.
With this new general manager, it is hoped that SeDidik will make strides in transforming the minds of all its staff in line with the direction set by the Sarawak Ministry of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development.
SeDidik was established in 1990 under the 6th Malaysia Plan and was originally created to implement educational, social and community projects of the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation or SEDC.
The idea of establishing SeDidik was from the former Chief Minister of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, who realised the importance of early childhood education in the development of human capital in Sarawak.
On July 27 2020, SeDidik was taken over by the state government through the State Financial Secretary Incorporation (SFS Inc.) under the jurisdiction of the ministry.
At present, SeDidik has operated in 98 centres throughout Sarawak with a total of 2,428 children from 2,289 families and 274 educators.
