KUCHING: Azam Sarawak, in collaboration with Finas Borneo, is hosting a three-day Host Training Workshop 2.0.

The workshop which began on Tuesday aims to train individuals in professional hosting skills, focusing on event management and creating impactful experiences for audiences.

Azam Sarawak Chief Executive Officer, Ali Suhaili, said that hosting is not merely a technical role but a highly valued art of communication.

“It is an art that requires training, self-confidence, and a clear purpose. Through this programme, we aim to produce individuals who are able to become effective communication ambassadors, in line with Azam’s mission to empower communities through communication development,” he said.

He also expressed his appreciation to Finas Borneo for their support and cooperation in organising this workshop.

“Collaborations like this are proof of Azam’s commitment not to work alone and continue to support joint efforts that benefit the community,” he said.

Principal Assistant Director of Finas Sarawak Branch, Maffizan Saupie, stated that its involvement in the programme is in line with their goal of supporting local talent in Sarawak.

“This workshop will not only help participants improve their hosting skills, but also strengthen the creative industry ecosystem in the state.

“With programmes like this, we are confident that local talents will be more prominent and make a great contribution to the country’s creative industry,” he said.

The workshop was well received with the attendance of over 90 participants representing various government agencies, corporate bodies, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
