AZAM Sarawak boosts PR skills via two-day training

KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (AZAM Sarawak) has successfully wrapped up its Public Relations and Media Relations Training 2024, with 40 participants gaining vital skills in public relations.

The two-day training, which included participants from AZAM and external agencies such as PUSTAKA Negeri Sarawak, Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS), and Sarawak’s State Legislative Assembly (DUN), focused on essential areas like media engagement, corporate writing, crisis management, and digital PR strategies.

AZAM Board member Alice Wee, said they are committed to continuously enhancing the skills and capabilities of their team and partners.

“This training provided essential tools to navigate the evolving public relations landscape, which is crucial for building strong relationships with the media and public, thereby supporting Sarawak’s development agenda,” she said.

Chief executive officer of AZAM Ali Suhaili said that understanding the different roles of government and corporate PR officers is critical for youth entering the workforce.

“This training is key to equipping our youth with the professional experiences that will ease their transition into the workforce. By understanding these distinctions early, participants are better prepared for the challenges of their future careers.

“AZAM focuses on empowering communities through participatory communication. We are creating a platform where information circulates within the ecosystem of communities, ensuring effective knowledge sharing and follow-up,” he said.
