DARO: Azam Sarawak has officially launched its participation in Pesta Pulau Bruit 2024, an event held from Sept 13 to 15 at the RGC Semop.

The festival is organised in collaboration with the Daro District Office, Semop Service Centre, and supported by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) and Azam Sarawak.

The first day of the event drew significant attention from the local community, offering a variety of engaging activities and exhibitions.

Azam Sarawak Strategic Communications manager Hassnal Hakim asserted that Azam’s presence at Pesta Pulau Bruit serves as a platform to engage with rural communities.

“It is central to our mission of promoting community development and effective grassroots communication,” he said in a statement.

The festival, now in its second edition under the theme ‘Mini Agrofest,’ aims to introduce community development initiatives in rural areas and strengthen social bonds.

Azam Sarawak’s booth, a highlight on the first day, offered a range of interactive activities such as quizzes, colouring competitions, a TikTok Challenge, and video screenings of Azam’s past initiatives.

Visitors also had the chance to participate in the ‘Jom Follow Azam’ social media initiative.

These programmes are designed not only to entertain but also to promote Azam Sarawak’s role in empowering rural communities through effective communication.

The activities will continue throughout the weekend, allowing visitors ample opportunity to join in.

One of the crowd-favourite activities at Azam’s booth was the ‘Jom Teka Wang Besar’ competition, an initiative by Corporate Affairs and UKAS deputy minister Datuk Abdullah Saidol.

Visitors were invited to guess the total amount of money in a jar, adding a layer of excitement to the event.

“This initiative not only provides a fun element for the visitors but also highlights Datuk Abdullah Saidol’s innovative approach to community engagement,” Hassnal added.

Under its slogan, ‘Movement for Progress,’ Azam Sarawak remains dedicated to delivering impactful programs aimed at enhancing the development and progress of communities both at the state and national levels.
