LIMBANG: The famous Babulang and Buffalo Race Festival continue to attract not only local residents but also tourists from around the world.
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah said that this festival became a reality thanks to the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from Limbang, Miri, and Brunei.
“We witnessed several interesting events, such as the Buffalo Race and the creative decorated boat competition, which saw great participation from the Bisaya community,” Hasbi said.
He said this during the opening of the 18th edition of the Babulang and Buffalo Race Festival held at Kampung Batu Danau here Saturday (June 3).
“Activities like these hold great significance in preserving our customs, art, and culture for the future generation of Bisaya,” he said.
Additionally, he announced a grant of RM30,000 to the Bisaya Association in support of organising the festival and related activities.
