TATAU: The Tatau Community Park is expected to be completed soon.
Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Native Laws and Customs) Datuk John Sikie Tayai said the project costing RM15.3mil was 30 per cent completed.
According to him, work, which was supposed to begin in March last year, experienced a slight delay due to unfavorable weather conditions.
“Progress was supposed to be at 56.21 per cent, however, due to the weather, there was a delay,” he said after being briefed on the project’s latest development here today.
The briefing was delivered by BDA senior development manager Ahmad Ghazi Arifin.
Sikie, who is also the Kakus assemblyman, was also informed that further discussion would take place soon to deliberate on ways to expedite the project completion by June.
Upon completion, the park, which is located at Sungai Jatan here, will provide recreational facilities to the community.
In a related development, Sikie also disclosed that the village expansion project in Tatau District was 90 percent completed.
The project, costing about RM15 million, involved the construction of 257 residential units, including the construction of infrastructure such as road, drainage system and so on.
“It is expected to be completed this April.”
Also present were Tatau District acting officer Calvin Ligong and BDA civil engineer Muhammad Ashadi.
