KUCHING: Bake With Yen, a one-stop store for baking needs, has opened its first branch here.
Bake With Yen (BWY) Holdings Sdn Bhd celebrated the grand opening of its first Kuching branch located at Metrocity Kuching, Lot 113 & Lot 114, Lorong Metrocity Boulevard 3A, Seksyen 65, KTLD, Metrocity Matang, Petra Jaya, yesterday.
The shop offers a wide range of products with more than 5,000 high quality bakery ingredients and tools.
It also offers premix flour for various types of cakes.
The ingredients and accessories are sold at affordable prices in line with its tagline “Low Price, More Choices”.
At the opening yesterday, the shop was packed with people.
The store is open every day from 8.30am till 6.30pm.
According to BWY East Malaysia’s general manager Victoria Maclyne Engku, the company is honoured and excited that its Kuching outlet is one of its biggest stores.
“Having been a member of the local retail scene since 1987, we remain committed to providing a wide range of baking products at affordable prices,” she said.
“We sense a growing enthusiasm in the community here and hope to meet their needs through our BWY store,” she added.
Bake With Yen was established in 1987 in Kuala Lumpur by its founder Mdm Yen.
The company manufactures, supplies and sells various baking ingredients, diary products, flours, and premixes, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, baking tools and accessories under the main brands of Bake With Yen, Butterich, Butteria, Sungold and Mama Lena.
Today, it has 37 stores nationwide and is the number one retail store for baking ingredients in Malaysia.
For the Borneo region, its headquarters is in Sabah where it currently operates seven stores.
In Sarawak, its first store is in Sibu, followed by the store here.
Its Bintulu outlet is expected to be opened by the end of this month and in Miri next month.
Present at the grand opening of the first store in Kuching yesterday were Bake With Yen Holdings Sdn Bhd CEO Ricky Soon, area manager Sharifah Azizah Wan Mohammed, store manager Jamilah Bujang, and in-house chef William Tan.
