BINTULU: A bakery at Jalan Sultan Iskandar has been ordered to close temporarily from July 4 -17 for failing to meet hygiene standards.

The closure notice was issued by the Food Safety and Quality Control Unit of the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA).

Environmental Health officer Gan Chung Yuek stated that the owner not only failed to maintain cleanliness but also made renovations to its building near the biscuit processing area.

“Thus, the owner has been given a Notice of Premises Closure from July 4 to 17, 2024, for cleaning and ensuring it comply to bakeries industry standards,” he said adding that all food operators in Bintulu are advised to adhere to regulations and legal standards.
