KUCHING: The Maulidur Rasul celebration holds significance for all Muslims as it commemorates the sending of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to spread the message of Islam.
Balingian assemblyman, Abdul Yakub Arbi emphasised the need for gratitude for the Prophet’s mission.
“At the same time, we must strive responsibly to uphold the tenets of our faith, preserving our beliefs and faith.
“We should also demonstrate and practice the noble character exemplified by the Prophet throughout his life,” he said.
He made these remarks when officiating at the Balingian sub-district level Maulidur Rasul Celebration at the Community Hall here yesterday.
In this regard, he stressed that tolerance is a cultural value taught in Islam and practiced by the Prophets under the guidance of Allah SWT.
He said, as Sarawakians with diverse ethnic backgrounds, the principle and practice of tolerance were crucial in maintaining harmony and well-being among the diverse communities.
Furthermore, he expressed appreciation to all involved in making this event a success.
