BALINGIAN: The Covid-19 programme held at three different locations here recently provided clear and valuable information to locals.
Balingian sub-district Information Department in collaboration with local bodies organised the Sepakat@Komuniti Pembudayaan Norma Baharu: Putuskan Rantaian Covid-19 Balingian 2020 programme at Mukah Power Generation Sdn Bhd on Oct 20, Balingian community hall (Oct 21) and Kampung Lintang (Oct 22), attended by about 300 people.
Balingian Information officer Matsukarmi Suani, quoting locals who welcomed the approach, said it was a good programme and the information presented was very important and needed to be known by the public.
Locals obtained important and additional information through talks delivered by the police and health department.
“Certain matters, which are unclear, are explained and clarified, and they understand better after personally attending the talks.”
According to him, as an agency close to the people and community, the department through its field staff also helped in disseminating simple and easy to understand additional information on the matter.
He explained that by doing so, the department was helping other authorities like the police and health department in raising awareness on Covid-19 among the people, besides helping them to adapt to the new normal.
